There are a few different ways that you can learn how to do your own roof repairs, you can work with a licensed roofing contractor for a few months, you can call a roofing contractor for some advice, or you can purchase some home improvement or roofing repair books, to help you solve your problem.
Some of these roof repair books can be extremely helpful, especially the ones that have a lot of pictures in them or illustrations. I have learned a lot, by reading these books and placing their practices into action. If you have a general knowledge about roofing or you have a general knowledge about how a roofing system works, there's a good chance that these books will just be an added bonus to your arsenal of home building information.
I do not recommend ordering these books off the Internet, if you have access to a bookstore. I would invite you to go down to the bookstore or your local library and get a good look for yourself, whether or not, these books are going to be helpful.
I would suggest that you get a book, with a lot of pictures, if possible. Illustrations can sometimes be confusing, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Some of the older roofing repair books, do not seem to have great illustrations, but the newer roofing repair have plenty of pictures. Some of these books can be extremely helpful and you should keep them in mind, if you're interested in doing your roof repairs yourself.
